I’m a pro at two things – book manufacturing and bass fishing. My book manufacturing experience includes five years in the Press department and four years as a Customer Service Associate. I spend my work day talking with customers about job specifications and shipping instructions. If they’re lucky, they’ll get a few tips about what the large mouths are biting on today.
Throughout the warm months, you’ll find me on the water trying to catch “the big one.” I’m a competitive angler in Bass Fishing Tournaments. When I’m not trying to outsmart the fish, I enjoy golf and Michigan football.

Can you believe I’ve been working in book manufacturing for 23 years?! People I meet tell me I have the energy of a teenager – which is important since I have to keep up with my three active sons and two peppy dogs. Outside of work, you’ll often find me paddling in my kayak down the Huron River. I also love to hike, rollerblade, bike, and canoe. And while I spend my days making books, I spend my evenings reading them.
No matter how many titles you’ve printed, you’re bound to have questions with every book. Since I’ve worked in several departments throughout manufacturing, I can talk you through the entire production process and make sure your worries are alleviated. Over the many years and many titles, my customers have become my friends. I’m looking forward to helping you with your next book.

At work I’m a customer service fanatic. Since 1986 I’ve shepherded thousands of titles through the manufacturing process. My clients appreciate the way I coach them through every step and detail, ensure their questions are answered, and offer advice to save time and money along the way.
Outside of work I’m a sports fanatic. My free time is spent on the golf course, watching Detroit Tiger baseball, and shouting for the Wolverine football team. While I’m an avid bowler (always trying for the perfect 300 game), my bowling philosophy is this - Even if you don't knock all of the pins down, be sure to strike a pretty pose!

Some like it hot. Some like it cold. I like it all. I LOVE extreme weather – blizzards, thunderstorms, and heat waves. When I am not at Thomson-Shore, I enjoy traveling to tropical destinations and being outdoors. Nothing is better than supper outside on a sunny evening with my family and pets.
During my 23 year career at Thomson-Shore, I’ve worked in prepress and manufacturing. Happily, I can bring my comprehensive experience to independent and religious publishers. I’m looking forward to talking with you about your next title, and I can’t wait to hear about your favorite vacation spot.

I have a rare condition – it’s called “Steelers Fever.” This means most of my wardrobe is black and gold, and despite the fact that I live nearly 300 miles from Pittsburgh, I do whatever it takes to catch every game. Super Bowl XL was one of my family’s finest moments.
I have been in the book printing industry for over 20 years and bring a wide range of experience to my job as your representative. I like to think of myself as my customer’s advocate, advisor, and right-hand man.

You could say Thomson-Shore “runs in my family.” My mom was in Customer Service for many years, and now I’m celebrating my nineteenth year with the company. Talk about employee retention! My son is only twelve, but he could quite possibly be working in a summer job here soon.
As you might expect, relationships mean the world to me. I spend my days talking with my customers in the University Press market about the things that matter most to them – quick turn around, efficient process, and a high quality end product. My number one responsibility is to ask the right questions, listen to you, and ensure that your expectations are met.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy being outdoors, knitting and spending time with my son and my dogs.

For me, this statement couldn’t be more true. With 5 children, 2 daughters-in-law, 2 grandsons (and another on the way), 3 cats and a dog, my days are filled with family and happiness. In my free time I enjoy watching my youngest son's high school baseball and football games, and spending time with friends and family.
I have been with Thomson-Shore for 23 years - which obviously means I started working here when I was just ten years old (wink, wink). As your Customer Service Representative, I’ll provide you with efficient and detailed updates as your book moves through the printing process. If you’re interested, I’d also be glad to update you on my grandsons’ latest adventures or the goofiest thing my cats did in the past 24 hours.

I LOVE to get my hands dirty in the garden. Whether growing flowers or vegetables, I enjoy the planting the seeds, nurturing the tiny sprouts, plucking out the weeds, and watching my garden grow. The peace, serenity and power of nature amaze me. When I’m not growing things in the garden, I’m proudly raising my three children ages 14, 12, and 7. I also enjoy reading, and my favorite author is Nora Roberts.
My time at Thomson-Shore has spanned 16 years. I’ve worked in many departments including prepress and planning, and I love to impart my knowledge of book printing to my customers. Speaking of book printing, did you know that if you place all Nora Roberts’s books ever printed top to bottom, they would stretch across the US from LA to NYC 10 times? Now that’s a lot of books!

In 1989 when I started working at Thomson-Shore, I was a three-knife operator in manufacturing. Back then, I drove to work with Bon Jovi, Paula Abdul, and Milli Vanilli on the radio. Twenty years later I’m still a happy employee-owner at Thomson-Shore. In that time, I’ve worked in many departments, but my reasons for coming to work have always been the same – I love the people I work with; I love producing a great end product; and I absolutely LOVE helping customers.
Outside of work, you’ll find me hanging out with good friends and family. One of my favorite things to do is drive my truck through the sand dunes. It’s tricky to drive the truck through sand, but I’ve been doing it so long I hardly ever get stuck.

Heather is a dynamo on the volleyball court and loves the challenge of a hard fought game. Opposing teams have a trouble getting a ball past her. She specializes at defense and strives to never let the ball hit the ground. Over the years, Heather has learned the value of teamwork on and off the volleyball court. At Thomson-Shore, she works with a collaborative team of professionals where everyone helps each other to take care of customers and succeed. And talk about a commitment to taking care of people, Heather has worked in the field of customer service since she was 16 years old! Throughout her career, she has felt challenged and rewarded by solving customers' problems and sending them away happy.

Since 1994, Jamie has worked with the wonderful folks at Thomson-Shore. She says her time in prepress, the bindery, and customer service have been “sweet and glorious years.” Yes, she loves her job! Jamie also loves to cook and sees it as a form of self expression. By preparing great meals, she feels like she can show her friends and family that she cares for them. She spends her free time in the garden and in the kitchen. She grows her own vegetables and herbs and creates her own healthy dishes, from creative sushi rolls to garlicky hummus to crisp and colorful salads. Her goal at Thomson-Shore and in her kitchen is the same - to take care of and delight all those around her.

You know that old saying “Reading is fundamental?” For me it is a daily joy! I love books. The way they look, the way they smell, and of course the way they read. I simply cannot pass a bookstore without stopping in to see what’s new. And I will read anything. My favorite book is The Dragonriders of Pern or anything by Anne McCaffrey.
I have worked in the book printing industry for more than 20 years, from the bindery to customer service. My experience paired with my love of all things about books makes me a natural for helping you get your titles into production.
