Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSIA) Information -

CPSIA became law in 2008 as a reaction to incidents of lead-tainted children's products being sold to consumers. The law narrowed limits of lead and phthalates allowable in children's products and also called for third-party testing, labeling and tracking systems, and safety certifications.

Overview: Federal Law requires products intended for children 12 years of age or younger to include a label within the book documenting where it was manufactured, a tracking number, and date. Thomson-Shore adds the following line to books intended for children (12 years of age or younger) to the copyright page.
