I remember it well - 1972 was a leap year, and it was my first year in the book manufacturing business. We sang a lot of "bye-bye miss American pie" and watched Al Pacino and Marlon Brando in "The Godfather." When I started, we used only negatives for printing, and we made corrections by gluing small pieces of type onto the existing camera copy in order to make changes.

For 15 years I worked in pre-press, press, bindery, shipping and purchasing operating machinery and supervision. Twenty three years ago I moved over to customer service and sales, and that's where I plan to stay. In fact, I'm so happy I don't plan to even consider retirement for another 15 years.

Today I am on the Board of Directors for the PubWest Association. My wife and I are proud of our three grown sons and five grandchildren. My favorite hobbies are working the yard, gardening, golfing, and coaching & umpiring Little League baseball games.

1979 marked the last year of disco and my first year in book manufacturing career. For over 30 years, my experience has run the full gamut from production to estimating to sales. Today I take care of the University Press market as their Sales Manager.

My wife and best friend, Cindy, and I have two active boys. In my free time, I coach a travel baseball team and enjoy lively conversations about the Denver Broncos, the Lakers, the Dodgers, and my beloved Boston Bruins. I come from a long line of fanatical bowlers – three of my family members (including me) have been inducted in the Ann Arbor Bowling Association Hall-of-Fame.

My name is George There have been many famous George's in history - George Washington, George Costanza, George Burns, and Curious George, to name a few. Interestingly, did you know that Babe Ruth's first name was George?

Like Babe Ruth, I'm competitive about sports. You'll often find me playing basketball, football, and hockey. In 1996, I ran the Detroit Free Press marathon and regularly participate in 5K and 10K runs.

Before my career in book manufacturing, I worked in a library bindery and spent five years in residential real estate and mortgage sales. When I'm not working with customers or playing sports, I enjoy traveling, music and nature. My family members mean so much to me. Happily, I'm the proud uncle of 3 nephews and 2 nieces.

Prior to working for a book manufacturer, I was actually a book publisher myself, so I understand the business of trade publishers, professional presses, religious presses, independent presses and literary presses. I'm an executive board member of the New York Bookbinders' Guild. I'm also a member of the Bookbuilders of Boston and the Academy of American Religion.

I've worked as a happy employee-owner at Thomson-Shore since 1989. In that time, I've worked in many departments, but my reasons for coming to work have always been the same – I love the people I work with; I love producing a great end product; and I absolutely LOVE helping customers.

I've been doing scrapbooking for more than 10 years, and I'm as hooked as I've ever been. When I'm scrapbooking, I sometimes think that this is what authors and illustrators must feel like when they're trying to tell a story through words and images. After I've taken a trip, it's fun for me to use photos and souvenirs (i.e. leaves, feathers, postcards) to try to recreate the things I experienced while on vacation. Sometimes I scrap alone, but I prefer to scrap with friends. That way, we can all share our goodies and accessories, and we can all proudly display our finished pages.

I have a rare condition – it’s called “Steelers Fever.” This means most of my wardrobe is black and gold, and despite the fact that I live nearly 300 miles from Pittsburg, I do whatever it takes to catch every game. Super Bowl XL was one of my family’s finest moments.

I have been in the book printing industry for over 20 years and bring a wide range of experience to my job as your representative. I like to think of myself as my customer’s advocate, advisor, and right-hand man.

Who says you can’t work hard and play hard? When I’m not hard at work at Thomson-Shore, you’ll find me tearing through the wilderness in my bright green Jeep. Whether I’m camping with my lovely wife and darling daughter, working in our yard, or helping my customers make a great book, I believe in having fun, helping people, and giving my all.

In 1997, I began my book manufacturing journey in the electronic pre-press department. Now, as the Global Sales Manager, I enjoy my travels both far and wide. My globe-trekking gives me the opportunity to visit new lands and make new friends.

Being a San Francisco 49ers fan, I have lived through the glory days of Joe Montana and Steve Young and the years of, well, not winning. I am excited about the Niners and Stanford being back on top!

When I am not in front of the tube keeping up with my favorite teams; you can find me in the kitchen cooking up a batch of killer pasta, playing golf or a rousing game of Bocce ball. In between, I have to try to keep up with my wife and two busy daughters.

I have been in the printing industry for over 20 years now. The myriad of changes have given me a well-rounded background in everything from offset, digital, POD, e-books, fulfillment, variable data and even mobile apps!

Give me a call today and we can talk about all of the possibilities of your next project!

You know that old saying “Reading is fundamental?” For me it is a daily joy! I love books. The way they look, the way they smell, and of course the way they read. I simply cannot pass a bookstore without stopping in to see what’s new. And I will read anything. My favorite book is The Dragonriders of Pern or anything by Anne McCaffrey.

I have worked in the book printing industry for more than 20 years, from the bindery to customer service. My experience paired with my love of all things about books makes me a natural for helping you get your titles into production.

My personal quote:
“So many books, so little time”
